This Time Tomorrow!

This time tomorrow we will be en route to ROMANIA! Team 1 is checked in for our flight, packing last minute things and eager to jump on a plane! Here are a few more thoughts from our team before we go!

"I am most excited to spend a week with a group of women (and my husband) that I love and respect so much. I know it'll be sweet to serve together! Please pray for my relationship with the girls. I have a passion for ministering to women in crisis and with traumatic backgrounds, so I am asking the Lord to help me make connections with them." - Anna Logan

"I am most excited to love on the girls at Deborah House and grow closer to our mission team. Please pray that I will communicate clearly through the translators and that I'll be able to connect well with the girls." -Heidi Ball

"I'm so excited to go to Romania this week!! I'm most excited about meeting the girls. I have heard so much about them from those who have been in the past. I think that being so close in age to the girls gives me a unique opportunity to be more relatable to them & form strong relationships. As for a prayer request - patience & flexibility! I am one who sticks to a schedule (Google Calendar is the most used app on my phone). I'm praying that I can have flexibility if/when things do not go as planned & be more in tune with how the Holy Spirit is leading, rather than worried about a schedule!" - Sarah Beth Stambaugh

"I am most excited to finally get my feet on Romanian soil and meet all the precious girls. How beautiful and powerful it will be to share the love of Christ with the girls through language barriers. It just reminds me how great our God is and that he orchestrates it all for His glory. My prayer request is to stay energized, zealous, and focused on why we are there, and take each trial that may come as an opportunity to rely on God's provision and plan." -Molli Sorrels

Tuesday Night we played a giant game of Tetris, AKA packing all our supplies!
The excitement and camaraderie were high!

Meet Laura Ivy - She is our honorary Team Member! She is eager to go when the Lord opens the door but until then, she has been the biggest help in all of our prep! Designing our team shirts, producing other graphics and helping us print and organize all we need to love the girls well! Thank you friend!

It's Not Goodbye, Just See You Later!

Recaps from Jamie, Sydney & Molli! Our week in Romania was incredible.  I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to go back a second time and see some familiar faces - people I call friends. We arrived on Saturday, June 29th and had dinner with the week one team. We were exhausted from travel, but it was really great to hear about their experiences and have a few hours to talk and laugh together before they had to go back home. Sunday, June 30th we attended Emil's church, and again, it felt so good to be back in a familiar setting with friends from across the world. Wilson gave the sermon, with Emil translating.  The songs we sang and the prayers we prayed were all in Romanian, but we were all worshiping the same God. To me that's an image of what heaven will look like - every nation, tribe and tongue bowing before the King of Kings. We started our week at Deborah House on Monday, July 1st. The week consisted of eight sessions of Bible study and crafts, where we ta...

One Step Closer to Eternity

Recap of Week 2 from  Heidi, Wilson, & Brandy! As I reflect on my time in Romania, I cannot help but be filled with gratitude, joy, and awe of what the Lord is doing there. Our time spent with the girls was so sweet and went by way too fast! It was so special being able to walk through the names of God with them and remind them just how personal God is. He delights in the details of our lives, and the depth of love He has for us is immeasurable. The girls were able to see how their identity is rooted in Him alone. Our identity is not found in worldly success, relationships, or our mistakes. When we accept His gift of salvation, we are His children. No matter what the world throws at us, we can peacefully rest in the promise of eternity. Along with Bible study, the girls did crafts. I helped in crafts all week, and it was so fun seeing each of their personalities expressed by the way they did their craft. girls are so creative and took their time with each one to make it their ...

Forever Etched in My Heart

Recaps from Lesley, Kim & Hannah!      Just a quick recap of my week in Romania. I didn’t know what to expect coming on this trip and the emotions we would have. This week will be forever etched in my heart. Being able to love on those girls and share the love of Jesus was such a great experience for me. I also enjoyed getting to know the ladies on my team at such a more personal level. Watching the girls do crafts and just smile and hug us, warmed my heart. This will be a week I will never forget.  - Lesley Brinkmann      It is very difficult to put into words how wonderful was a week at The Deborah House. I am so thankful to God and to my family that I was able to return for a second year. I have thought about and prayed for those precious girls since I left last June. To be able to see them and hug them again was wonderful.  Our week was full of fun activities with the girls and as a team. I hope that the girls felt the love of Jesus...
